Our penultimate instalment of Doggy Day Care Cornwall’s Dog Friendly Tour of Cornwall is here, to help you find Cornwall’s best dog friendly spots when your dog isn’t in Camborne dog day care. Each post focuses on a new Cornish town, covering everything from the best walks, restaurants and cafes, places to stay, gardens and tourist attractions.
The Bronze Age burial site, Chapel Carn Brea, offers beautiful panoramic views across Penwith and is a perfect Camborne dog walking spot. This rugged uphill walk is probably best suited to the slightly fitter and more adventurous doggy duos but we promise the walk is worth the view. Doggies also to love exploring the trails. There are plenty of different routes to take to reach the top of Carn Brea, such as the 7.5 mile Great Flat Lode. This is a great route for dog walkers and cyclists but the quickest way to explore the area is to drive up the hill from the village of Carnkie and park near Carn Brea Castle on the eastern summit. This is a great option for older doggies or those who only need a short walk.
Stithians Lake is a great dog walking spot only 6 miles from Camborne. The beautiful views and miles of footpath make it enjoyable for two legged and four legged friends alike, and the cafe is dog friendly and the children’s play area will keep younger children occupied. Dogs do need to be kept on leads though, and they are not permitted to paddle so perhaps not the best option for a very hot summer’s day.
